Incidental finding of a meningioma-en-plaque in a patient with prostate adenocarcinoma

Abstract Meningiomas-en-plaques (MEP) are characterized by an area of hiperostosis and constitute a diagnostic challenge, especially when associated with other underlying conditions, and may mimic other clinical conditions. We present a case of a large EMP, which was an incidental finding on a scintigraphy study of a patient with prostate adenocarcinoma, this finding being histologically confirmed. In regards to the case, we discuss the utility of the bone scintigraphy (BS) in relationship to other imaging modalities.
