Functional responses of hindlimb circulation in aged normal and WHHL rabbits

Abstract Normal New Zealand and Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic (WHHL) rabbits, about 24 months old, were prepared, under anaesthesia, for recording blood pressure and hindlimb blood flow. Changes in hindlimb vascular resistance were measured after local intra-arterial bolus injection of increasing doses of acetylcholine, bradykinin, serotonin, sodium nitroprusside and phenylephrine.
