Regression of biliary cirrhosis following choledochal cyst drainage

1982
Abstract An 8-yr-old girl presented with abdominal pain, recent jaundice, a fluctuant mass below the liver, splenomegaly, and was found to have a choledochal cyst. Drainage of the cyst was performed. Biliary cirrhosis and portal hypertension were present. Recurrent intermittent abdominal pain in the subsequent 12 yr eventually led to a second laparotomy. Regression of the biliary cirrhosis was confirmed macroscopically and histologically.
