Monitoring of Coping

The monitoring of coping in the cancer patient is vital both for the patient and the family, yet it is rarely practised by clinicians. Either they find it too emotionally-threatening or time-consuming, or else they are not able to do it effectively. But coping may be monitored by a variety of clinical professionals and need not be undertaken solely by the doctor in charge of cancer treatment.
