Neuropathic arthropathy is a progressive, degen-erative arthritis affecting one or more peripheral orvertebral articulations associated with an underly-ing central or peripheral neurological disorder. Oneof the most common causes besides diabetes melli-tus and syphilis is syringomyelia, a chronic pro-gressive degenerative or developmental disorder ofthe spinal cord.
