Targeting inflammation and fibrosis as a driver, the FIDELIO-DKD (Effect of Finerenone on Chronic Kidney Disease Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetes) trial reported by Bakris et al. provides evidence of a new therapeutic class for treating DKD.
