Trust Value Based Energy Efficient Routing (TVBEER) Protocol in MANETs

2016
This paper presents an energy efficient routing protocol, Trust Value Based Energy Efficient Routing Protocol (TVBEER) for MANETs. TVBEER protocol selects the route based on the “Trust Value” of the nodes. The trust value of a node is dependent on two parameters: the direction of the node (flow) and the remaining energy of the node. More the trust value, more trusted will be the node for the data transmission. Data is only forwarded if the succeeding node is the trusted one, else another trust value for other node is calculated. It extend the lifetime of the routes by electing the efficient path. The simulation was done using the NS2 simulator and the results show the effectiveness of the TVBEER protocol in terms of energy efficiency for the mobile ad hoc networks.
