Posterior Fracture - Dislocation of the left Shoulder after Electric Shock. A case report and literature review

2014
Electrical accidents usually cause burns, bowel lesions and injuries of musculoskeletal system with posterior dislocation of the shoulder as the most common popular. We report a case of a woman with posterior fracture–dislocation of the left shoulder after electric shock. 2 weeks after electric shock she was treated with hemiarthroplasty surgery. Two years after surgery the patient was able to return to her work and was satisfied with her shoulder mobility at follow up examination. We reviewed the literature for this very rare injury that often misses diagnosis and consists a diagnostic trap for the inexperienced surgeon.
