Development of metamaterial microwave radiation sources

2015
Metamaterials in particular a kind of metallic complementary electric split ring resonator (CeSRRs) bring new opportunities for traditional high-power vacuum electric devices. In this paper, we report the transmission characteristics in both simulation and experiment for a novel slow-wave structure (SWS) with the CeSRRs and then study the beam-wave interaction by using the PIC simulation. It is shown that the metamaterial microwave radiation sources have prominent advantages such as miniaturization, high-power, and high electron efficiency.
