Changing characteristic of hepatitis B virus carrying rate in China form 1992 to 2016: a Meta-analysis

2018
Objective To evaluate the changing characteristics of hepatitis B virus(HBV)carrying rate in recent 25 years in our country, clarify the significance of hepatitis B vaccination and provide the basis for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods Research reports on the published HBV carrying rates during 1992-2016 were collected by computerized searches, literature review, and manual searches through Pubmed, Ovid, EMBase, Wanfang, VIP and CNKI.The Meta-analysis method was used to summarize and analyze the selected 50 related articles, and conclude the changing characteristic of HBV carrying rate in China. Results The carrying rate of HBV in China was declining in the past 25 years. The difference in the carrying rate of HBV between 1992-2004 and 2005-2016 was statistically significant(8% vs.6%, P<0.05). During 2005 to 2016, the HBV carrying rate of Northeast was 4%, North China 3%, East China 7%, Central China 7%, Northwest 5%, Southwest 5%, South China 8%. Conclusion In the past 25 years since China used hepatitis B vaccine, HBV carrying rate has showed a downward trend, and HBV infection has been effectively controlled.Carrying rates in seven regions of China are compared, with the highest HBV carrying rate in Southern China, the lowest carrying rate in North China and Northeast China.
