Research progress on ankylosing spondylitis with varicocele

Ankylosing spondylitis(AS) is a chronic and progressive inflammatory spinal arthritis.clinically, it involves not only the sacroiliac joint, spinal column and peripheral joint, but also the manifestation outside the joint.Varicocele(VC) is a vascular disease, which refers to the abnormal expansion and tortuosity of tendril venous plexus in spermatic cord, which can lead to progressive testicular dysfunction and is one of the common causes of male infertility.In recent years, studies have shown that as has a high incidence of VC, and whether patients can make early diagnosis and treatment is an important factor affecting the fertility of as patients.However, there is little concern about this research in our country at present.Therefore, in order to promote clinicians'understanding and attention to AS and VC, this paper reviews the literature and discusses the related issues from aspects of epidemiology, evaluation methods, types, etiology, fertility effects, and treatment of AS and VC.
