Main characteristics of the biological turn-over in the Castanea sativa Mill. communities from Belasitza Mountain, Bulgaria.

The results from investigation of the turnover of the macroelements K, Ca, Na, Mg, P, N and microelements Fe, Mn, Pb, Zn and Cu in three model chestnut communities from the north slopes of Belasitza Mountain in Bulgaria are presented. The assessment of the accumulated amounts in the phytomass and their allocation to layers and fractions are carried out. The annual capacity of the biological turnover and the allocation of the annual accumulated amount for the layers and fractions are estimated. The characteristic of the type of the turnover according prevailing elements in the phytomass and annual production are determined. The intensity of the turnover of the investigated bioelements is made.
