Minimizing hangers and snubbers by using thermally self-adjusting rigid pipe supports in an LMFBR primary leg

An effort to design an LMFBR primary hot leg, minimizing snubbers, has been made. By using simple pivotal links, some in-line supports and cold springing, the number of snubbers in a particular primary piping leg has been reduced by 75%. This result is quite promising and should be an incentive for more studies in this direction.
