Enfermedad de Scheuermann

Scheuermann's disease is a frequent cause of thoracic hyperkyphosis and subacute dorsalgia in young people. Its cause is idiopathic; however it is a widely held view that there may be genetic factors involved. X-ray tests showing vertebral wedging and kyphotic angulation of the thoracic spine accompanied by compatible symptoms are usually evident enough to formulate a diagnosis. In most cases the chosen treatment is conservative.
