Thyroid lobectomy is the most common operation performed for neoplastic disease of the head and neck. A thorough knowledge of the operative anatomy and possible complications is essential for this surgical procedure to be performed with minimal morbidity. The object of this review is to provide the surgeon with a detailed description of the operative technique, surgical anatomy, and morbidity of thyroid lobectomy.
