Applications of a shotcrete robot for creating an immediate comparability of mix designs

2007
Shotcrete tests under edge conditions that are repeatable at any time can provide important and uniquedecisioncriteriaforspecificfieldsofapplicationofshotcreteasasecuringmean.Nowadaystheemphasis of interest is lying more and more on particular questions of the consistency and adherence of mixture and the possibility of reaching a certain strength level depending on the mix-design. It happens more frequently that for example certain cements or supplements are allowed by a client, whose usabilities for shotcrete have not always been assured completely. Nowadays spray experiments are conducted on site which are restricted to the common spray boxes. Samples gained by this method are only feasible to a limited extent. This paper illustrates how experiments with little deviation among the measurement results can be achieved in comparison to current construction site testing methods. For the purpose of comparison the most important parameters are contrasted and classified with respect to their reproducibility. Therewith the test results are valued in reference to their significanceasempiricmeasurement.Concludingaprospectonthenecessaryprogressesofshotcretetechnology is provided and a possible spectrum of application of a set-up under laboratory conditions is developed.
