The embodiment of the invention discloses a method, a device and a system for transmitting reset signals and rate indication signals and relates to the field of communication. For reducing pins used by optical line terminal (OLT) receiving optical module and the like, the embodiment of the invention adopts a technical scheme that: after receiving a reset signal and a rate indication signal, which are sent by a media access control equipment or superior equipment, a signal multiplexer multiplexes the reset signal and the rate indication signal to generate a multiplex signal and sends the multiplex signal to a signal de-multiplexer; and after receiving the multiplex signal, the signal de-multiplexer de-multiplexes the multiplex signal and restores the resetting signal and rate indication signal from the multiplex signal. The invention is applicable to a passive optical network (PON) system.
