Endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) of pancreatic mass

2020
A 59-year-old male presented with worsening right upper quadrant pain and vomiting. Computerized tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen showed an obstruction of the common bile duct (CBD), dilatation of intrahepatic biliary tree, and extensive mediastinal, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric lymphadenopathy. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) showed an irregular mass in the pancreatic head, which measured 20 mm x 18 mm, thus resulting in the obstruction of CBD. An endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) of the mass and peripancreatic lymph nodes was performed.
