Primary splenic lymphoma detected by F-18 FDG PET.

Abstract: F-18 FDG uptake of splenic involvement by malignant lymphoma has frequently been seen, but reports of F-18 FDG PET related to primary splenic lymphoma (PSL) are very rare. We describe herein a case of PSL detected by F-18 FDG PET. A 66-year-old woman was referred for further examination due to indications of a solitary splenic tumor. F-18 FDG PET revealed the abnormal focal uptake of the spleen. Laparoscopic splenorectomy was performed to acquire the histopathological findings. The histopathological findings of splenic tumor were diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
