Experimental study on Zhuhong Ointment promoting chronic dermal ulcer healing

Objective:To evaluate the wound healing activities of Zhuhong Ointment in ulcer model rats.Methods:SD rats(n=70) were randomly divided into 7 groups,including model group,matrix group(vaseline) and 5 groups with different dose of preparations(27.2,13.6,6.8,3.4,1.7mg/cm2,group A,B,C,D and E).After consecutive medicinal administration for 7 days,the level of total protein(TP) and hydroxyproline(Hyp) content of the granulation tissue were detected.Observe the wound area and morphological changes.Results:Compared with model group,the skin ulcer area of matrix,D,and E group rats were reduced obviously(P0.01).The levels of TP and Hyp were increased significantly in group A,B,C,D and E(P0.01).Conclusion:This study showed that Zhuhong Ointment(1.7,3.4mg/cm2) was able to significantly accelerate the process of wound healing in ulcer model rats.
