Protective effect of extract of ligustrum lucidum ait against hepatic injury induced by CCI4 in mice

Objective To study the pwtective effect of extract of lignstrum lueidum ait against CCI4 - induced hepatic injury in mice. Methods Acute liver injury model in mice was made by using 0. 12% CCI4. The levels of SGPT, LGPT in serum and SOD in liver were observed. Results Compared with model control group,the levels of SGPT, LGPT of the mice treated with ex-tract of ligustrum lucidum ait significantly decreased, while the activity of SOD increased greatly. Conclusion Extract of ligns-trum lucidum ait can prevent CCI4 -induced hepatic injury. Key words: Ligustrum lucidum ait ; Acute liver injury;  Carbon tetrachloride
