© 2007 by the AGA Institute 1542-3565/07/$32.00 7-year-old boy presented with fatigue and intermittent abdominal pain. Physical examination was remarkable or pallor. He was found to have iron-deficiency anemia hemoglobin level, 7.1 g/dL; iron level, 8 g/dL; range, 40 – 59 g/dL) and guaiac-positive stools. Esophagogastroduoenoscopy and colonoscopy were unrevealing. Single-conrast small-bowel follow-through series showed a single ilated segment of small bowel in continuity with identifible normal loops of proximal and distal ileum (Figures A nd B, arrow pointing to diverticulum). The cecum and erminal ileum were seen superior and lateral to this lesion not shown). Computerized tomography of the abdomen and elvis also showed a contrast-filled dilated loop of bowel in ontinuity with the distal ileum (Figure C, arrow pointing to iverticulum). A technetium pertechnetate (Meckel’s) scan as negative. Diagnostic laparoscopy revealed a saccular eckel’s diverticulum located approximately 2 feet proximal doi:10.1016/j.cgh.2007.07.022
