Bone Joint J. 2015 Nov;97-B(11):1475-80. ### Question: In patients >65 years of age with a displaced femoral neck fracture, should a cemented or uncemented femoral stem be used? ### Design: Randomized (allocation concealed), unblinded, controlled trial with 4 and 12 months of follow-up. ### Setting: A large Swedish trauma center. ### Patients: 141 patients >65 years of age (mean age, 81 years; 70% women) who presented within 48 hours after acute displaced fracture of the femoral neck due to low-energy trauma and had total hip arthroplasty (65 to 79 years of age) or hemiarthroplasty (HA) (≥80 years of age).
