Revision Parathyroid Surgery

Abstract Reoperative parathyroidectomy can often be performed successfully, particularly if imaging directs the surgeon to a specific target. However, surgeons need to approach these cases with caution and carefully weigh the risk-benefit ratio of proceeding with patients and their physicians. Although a range of techniques can be employed to address the challenges encountered in reoperative surgery, select cases can be particularly precarious even for the most experience surgeon.
