Experimental study on release characteristics of the gas-liquid extinguishing agent in a confined space

2019
To study the release characteristics of the extinguishing agent from fire extinguisher with different configurations of nozzles in a limited space, a fire extinguishing experiment platform was established. The release effect of the fire extinguishing agent was investigated by monitoring the gas molar fraction in the release space and the pressure change during the spraying process. The flow field was numerically simulated using the CFD software Fluent to compared with the experimental results. The results show that under the same release conditions the release effect of the convergent and divergent nozzles are significantly better than that of the straight nozzles. The convergent nozzle is slightly better than divergent nozzle. For the convergent nozzle with different structures, the larger the shrinkage angle is, the better the injection release.
