Angular momentum and excitation function in near-barrier heavy ion fusion reactions

Abstract The experimental status on angular momentum distributions and/or its moments in near-barrier heavy ion fusion is briefly reviewed. A relation between the angular momentum and the excitation function suggested previously is examined in light of the existing data and found to be valid in most of the cases.
