The Application of Optical Coherence Tomography for Macular Disease before Cataract Surgery

Objective To explore the clinical value of optical coherence tomography(OCT) for macular disease before cataract surgery.Methods Fifty three cataract patients(53 eyes)who were diagnosed in clinic of Beijing Changping District Hospital from January to March in 2011 were selected.Optical coherence tomography was used in these patients before cataract surgery.Results Macular diseases were found in 22 patients(22 eyes).There were no signals in four patients because of muture cataract.Conclusion OCT is a very important examination for macular disease before cataract surgery.
