A network direct read gas meter based on Wi-Fi module

2016
With the development of mobile Internet and Smart home technology, remote intelligent meter reading has become a new trend. In this paper, we propose a method for real-time remote gas reading meters based on Wi-Fi wireless network. The system uses MSP430F4152 microcontroller as the core unit with very low power consumption. The gas usage information is collected by a reed sensor, which is computed by the MSP430F4152 and displayed on the LCD displayer. Further, the gas data are sent to the remote server by the Wi-Fi module real-timely, which is connected via a wireless LAN router. Finally, through the web server, the gas's usage information can be viewed by the users at any time. The experimental measurement results show that the gas power consumption in the standby is 0.6mW. The time of Wi-Fi module transmit data to the remote server is 0.116s.
