Beam Test of Bond Behavior Between Steel Bars and Reactive Powder Concrete

2012
Bond proprieties of reinforced reactive powder concrete beams were studied. It is concluded as follows: there are two modes of bond failure in beam tests of reactive powder concrete;one is steel pullout and the other is steel pullout together with concrete splitting;the ultimate bond strength and its corresponding slip values are about twice of normal concrete;the bond stress-slip curve of reactive powder concrete can be divided into four sections,i.e.,the sections of micro-slip,slip,slip speed-up and descending;the corresponding characteristic values are affected to some extent by the thickness of concrete cover and bond length of embedment. The empirical formula for characteristic values related to the relative thickness of concrete cover and relative bond length of embedment fit the test results, which can provide reference to engineering design.
