Rua de lazer para Aracaju-SE: uma proposta de ressignificação do espaço público para comunidade e visitantes

The dimension and the influence of leisure in the quality of the human being's life are notorious. While study field, leisure supplies a vast literature and that contemplates several approaches, mainly in sociology. Geography and tourism also added to the discussion, for example. Considering those premises on leisure, the present research aimed “to elaborate a proposal of leisure street for the Residential Complex Augusto Franco, in Aracaju – SE, in the perspective of redefining the public space for community and visitors." Specifically, it was sought: To develop a historical and critical reflection on the concepts of leisure, its development spaces and its relationship with tourism; To make a diagnosis of leisure options on the Residential Complex Augusto Franco, in Aracaju; To identify with social organizations and public managers the viability of the offer of leisure street in the residential complex referred above; To build a proposal of leisure street for the residential complex. This work explores the field of leisure in its historical context, portraying the importance of its role in the individuals' formation, as a right of all, emphasizing its reflexes in the health and strengthening of social relationships. Besides, it analyzes the relationship between leisure and the space where it grows which can be public or private, and also presents arguments regarding the contribution of that activity for tourism. Regarding the public space, Leisure Street stands out as the core of this research, being Residential Complex Augusto Franco the field of study that has motivated the preparation of a proposal for leisure with the configuration required for a Street like that. To meet this purpose some social groups in the community of the residential complex were heard in order to understand how is the relationship of these groups, their characteristics, needs and how they notice and qualify leisure. It is an exploratory research, a case study with a qualitative approach, which brings as results the perception of the community representatives regarding leisure and, through the analysis of these subjects‟ speeches, the suggestion of a feasible leisure proposal for the above-mentioned residential complex.
