Clinical relevance of genotype distribution of hepatitis B virus in Jiangmen region

2014
Objective To explore the clinical relevance of genotype distribution of hepatitis B virus(HBV) in Jiangmen region. Methods 200 patients diagnosed with positive chronic hepatitis B admitted to our hospital from April 2013 to December 2013 were randomly selected. The real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR-fluorescence probe method was used to detect the genotypes of HBV.The biochemical indicators of patients with different genotypes were analyzed and the differences in liver function damage of patients with different genotypes were analyzed and explored. Results The genotype detection results of the 200 patients with chronic hepatitis B displayed 142 cases of genotype B,43 cases of genotype C and 15 cases of mixed genotype BC.The main genotype of patients with liver cancer and severe hepatitis was genotype B,accounted for 90.0% and 81.1% respectively, and which were all significantly higher than that of HBsAg carriers, the differences were all statistically significant(P0.05).The serum alanine aminotransferase level of patients with genotype C was significantly lower than that of patients with genotype B,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion The main genotypes of hepatitis B virus in Jiangmen region are type B,type C and mixed type BC,of which genotype B mainly exists in patients with liver cancer and severe liver disease.
