Síndrome de Guillain-Barré como manifestación paraneoplásica de linfoma No Hodgkin: Reporte de un caso

2008
We present the case of a 59 years-old male with clinical features of acute demyelinating polyneuropathy with distal sensitive alterations, weight loss, axillary adenopathies, painful hepatosplenomegaly and widen mediastinum demonstrated by CT scan. Axillary lymph node biopsy showed follicular lymphoma grade II (no Hodgkin). Guillain-Barre syndrome is an acquired inflammatory disease produced by an immunological mechanism associated to Campylobacter jejunii and some viruses. Peripheral neuropathies associated to non-Hodgkin malignant lymphomas are commonly due to drug toxicity or infiltration to nervous system or both, but the paraneoplastic association is less than 3%, reason to present this case.
