Retracted: A fault types classification on distribution network using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

Reliability of electrical system has always been a goal to achieve. It is one of many issues that may affect that is fault. The detecting and identifying techniques of fault types is a key factor to ensure the reliable power system. Classification the fault type being encountered at the distribution network. The artificial neural network is used to classify the fault type and utilized voltage sag and current swell values as input. Training feed forward with backpropagation has been used to classify faults against different fault resistance values. Ten types of fault in the different nodes and branches also tested to observe the ability of the algorithm. The applicability of the method is demonstrated on the simulation using PSCAD based on real data from Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) Malaysia. The proposed technique showed a very good performance in the various fault resistance, nodes and branches.
