Correlation of colon cancer and PINCH and COX-2 protein

2015
Objective To explore the correlation of colon cancer and particulary interesting new cysteinehistidine rich protein( PINCH) and cyclooxygenase 2( COX-2) protein. Methods From January2012 to September 2014 in Gucheng County Hospital,80 colon cancer patients were admitted in the study as research group, and in the same period 30 cases of normal colon were enrolled as control group. PINCH and COX-2 protein expressions were detected using immunohistochemical Envision method. The expressions and correlation between colon cancer biology were analyzed. Results The PINCH and COX-2 expressions were higher than those of the control group( P 0. 05). PINCH expression was related to colon cancer with lymph node metastasis and distant metastases, infiltrating depth( P 0. 05); COX-2 expression was related to Dukes staging of colon cancer, tumor diameter, whether with lymph node metastasis and distant metastases, infiltrating depth( P 0. 05). PINCH and COX-2 expression in colon cancer patients exhibited positive correlation( r = 0. 520,P 0. 04). Conclusions PINCH,COX-2 protein abnormalities may indicate colon cancer and they could produce certain effect in the process of colon cancer invasion and metastasis.
