Student sense of belonging within a tourism management programme

This working paper explores sense of belonging from the perspective of six undergraduate students currently enrolled in a tourism management undergraduate degree. It explores their current perception of belonging on four institutional levels - the wider university, the faculty, the school and the tourism management programme. The facilitators and barriers that contribute to their sense of belonging are discussed, and practical recommendations are provided to support students' sense of belonging to the programme across different stages of their university career.
