Postoperative Management and Follow-Up Strategies for Chronic Subdural Hematoma
2021
Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is a frequent intracranial hemorrhagic disease, most commonly encountered in geriatric patients. Surgery is the gold standard of various treatment strategies. Regardless of the surgical procedure, CSDH patients must be sufficiently monitored postoperatively because hematoma recurrence is not uncommon. Hence, the postoperative stage requires developing care standards protocols and well-defined follow-up strategies to optimize patient care and ultimately improve the clinical outcomes.
