Development of IP service in the United States : Alliance with Verio

Pv6 (Internet Protocol version 6), which is the next generation of IP, has been standardized to meet the growth in number of Internet users and variation in Internet applications. A testbed, that is connected to the global IPv6 experimental network 6bone and provides IP reachability to other organizations is essential to develop the technology for Internet service. NTTv6Net is the IPv6 high-speed global testbed built on GEMnet. This paper describes the features of IPv6, the structure of NTTv6Net, and the IPv6 service technology being developed on the testbed.
