High-resolution 3D analytic tomography of nano-objects

2010
A new technique of analytical electron tomography, where the series of projections used to reconstruct the 3D-volume of a nano-object is recorded in energy filtered imaging mode, has been implemented that allows to map chemical elements embedded in various nano-structured objects and to correlate them with the morphology and the accessibility of a porous network. Applied for the first time with a nanoscale resolution, this technique opens the way for obtaining precise information on the chemical composition of a 3D object at a nanometre scale.
