Fisiopatologia, diagnóstico e tratamento da anemia ferropriva: Uma revisão de literatura

2021
Anemia is defined as a pathological process in which the concentration of hemoglobin (Hb), contained in red blood cells, is abnormally low. Iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia, due to its high prevalence, repercussions on growth and development, resistance to infections and association with mortality in children under 2 years old, are considered one of the main public health problems. The aim of this research was to summarize the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency anemia. It is characterized as a qualitative and quantitative, descriptive study carried out through a bibliographic search, consisting of scientific articles. With the study, it was possible to evidence the high causal potential of iron deficiency anemia in the child population, thus being able to compromise marked and inhuman child development. In addition, it is seen that prevention, control and treatment solutions are needed to prevent children from suffering from these conditions, as it is a chronic public health problem without access to health conditions for the population, which strongly indicates a problem for the cause of this anemic condition.
