better for the E type blade than for the standard blade (P<0.001). The 95% confidence interval for the possibility of the type E being better than the standard blade in patients with difficult laryngoscopy was 45‐74%. We have found that the type E laryngoscope blade provided a better glottic view significantly more frequently than the standard blade in patients in whom laryngoscopy was unexpectedly difficult.
