A method for maximizing throughput of MIMO antennas by mounting in a vehicle

An array of MIMO antennas in a vehicle such as a motor vehicle, wherein at least one of the MIMO antenna is mounted inside the vehicle in the stronger multipath signal propagation environment. The MIMO antenna includes a primary MIMO antenna, which can also be used for non-4G mobile service, one or more secondary MIMO antennas, which are used only for 4G mobile services. In one embodiment, the primary MIMO antenna is mounted on a roof of the vehicle in a module that includes the other antennas, and the one or more secondary antennas are positioned at desired locations within the vehicle. In another embodiment, the primary MIMO antenna and the one or more secondary MIMO antennas are all positioned within the vehicle.
