Pneumatosis Cystoides Coli Diagnosed by Endoscopy: Report of a Case

2009
The occurrence of pneumatosis cystoides coli is quite rare. Different diagnostic modalities (such as colonoscopy, computer tomography, barium enema, endoscopic ultrasonography etc.) have been reported in previous literatures. But routine biopsy can't obtain adequate specimen to make the final pathologic diagnosis. We report a 25-year-old health male patient presenting with multiple submucosal tumors in ascending colon. Pathologic diagnosis was achieved by sampling huge submucosal tissue with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) method instead of surgical intervention.
