Infrastrukturdaten im INTERNET : Schienennetz-Benutzungsbedin-gungen und Infrastrukturregister

2007
Faced with European Community directives on the liberalization of railway traffic and their transposition into national legal requirements, DB Netz AG, the German infrastructure manager, considers that it has no alternative to using the Internet to publish numerous items of information as regards its railway network and infrastructure facilities. The company took the decision to seek synergies in combining these requirements with achieving internal benefits and so it chose a modern technical architecture that is going to be able to keep pace with the growing demands as regards data complexity, range of functions and number of users. The architecture that first came into being for publishing network statements now also forms the basis for DB Netz infrastructure register and, in parallel with that, for around twenty intranet solutions, used by more than 5000 users.
