PHARMACOKINETIC ANALYSIS OF MANGIFERIN: A STUDY BIBLIOGRAPHICAL

Mangiferin has a variety of pharmacological activities as well as potentially to be developed as a new drug. It. This study aims to analyze the pharmacokinetic parameters of mangiferin from various studies that have been carried out with both pure mangiferin and mangiferin in formulations. This study employs a bibliographical of the pharmacokinetics of mangiferin. The data was conducted by collecting mangiferin pharmacokinetic literature with criteria: a literature survey was done in Scopus, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct database for articles for published articles from 2000 to 2019 pharmacokinetics study of mangiferin. The mangiferin examination in drug development to date has been limited to pre-clinical trials. Therefore, mangiferin has not been able to be a drug for the treatment of disease. However, based on several previous examining of mangiferin have the potential to be further tested in drug development, such as clinical trials provided that researchers can improve the bioavailability and solubility of mangiferin. Future study is expected to modify the mangiferin preparations to improve absorption through increased solubility and transport across membranes to improve its pharmacokinetic profile.
