ANALYSE TRANSVERSALE DES REPONSES ANTICORPS CONTRE LES ANTIGENES DES STADES SANGUINS ASEXUES DE PLASMODIUM FALCIPARUM EN ZONE DE PALUDISME URBAIN SYMPTOMATIQUE NON AGGRAVE A DAKAR (SENEGAL) ; ANTIBODIES RESPONSES TO PLASMODIUM FALCIPARUM BLOOD STAGE CRUDE EXTRACT IN SYMPTOMATIC PATIENTS LIVING IN AN URBAN, LOW ENDEMIC AREA OF DAKAR (SENEGAL).

2010
SUMMARY Introduction : Plasmodium falciparum malaria causes considerable morbidity and mortality in urban areas. The factors that contribute to the control of parasite density are unclear and may be related to insufficient and/or inadequate antibodies responses. The aim of this study was to evaluate antibodies levels and to find the relationship between theses antibodies responses and hemato parasitological data in symptomatic urban patients. Materials and methods : We examined the antibodies profiles of 200 patients from Dakar, withdrawn before treatment with no history of recent travel outside the city, with acute clinical malaria. Parasitic densities were evaluated by microscopy and haematological data were obtained with a Celdyn (Abbot)R Counter. Serum antibodies levels were measured by ELISA, for IgM, IgG, IgG 1 , IgG
