Image-guided percutaneous lipiodol-pingyangmycin suspension injection therapy for sacral chordoma.

2013
Chordoma has poor sensitivity to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and is mainly treated by surgery. However, chordoma still has a relatively high recurrence rate and a low disease-free survival rate after resection. Therefore, many authors suggest that patients with chordomas should be treated with a multidisciplinary team to obtain the optimal outcomes. We previously reported the safety and efficacy of percutaneous intratumoral injections with chemotherapeutic agent lipiodol suspension in treating the patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (1).
