Features of Composition and Structure of High Density Lipoproteins in Disulphatlipoproteinemias According to Spin Label Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Data

1982
In physiological conditions lipoproteins (LPs) of blood plasma transport cholesterol and essential fatty acids for the construction of smooth muscle and endothelial cells. However, disturbance of the influx and/or outflux by LPs of cholesterol leads to its accumulation in the vascular wall, and promotes development of the atherosclerotic process. Thus, the study of the composition and properties of those LPs which transport cholesterol into the blood plasma is of principal interest.
