0.70 for GLUT12) when compared to BPH (TS 0.52 0.58) or normal prostatic glands (TS 0.85 0.87) (p 0,0001). Each of the PCa GS subgroup (6, 7or 8 ) had a statistically significant higher TS for GLUT12 expression when compared to BPH or normal prostatic glands (p 0.05). HK2 TS was significantly higher in GS 6 and GS 8 subgroups when compared to BPH. Interestingly, GLUT1 expression was decreased in GS 8 tumors (p 0.0285 vs Gl 6, p 0.0865 vs G7 and p 0.01 vs BPH and normal prostatic gland). Neither marker expression pattern did correlate with intraprostatic FDG uptake on PET-CT. CONCLUSIONS: We show in the largest primary PCa series published to date that GLUT1, GLUT12 and HK2 proteins are expressed in PCa. While GLUT12 and HK2 expression is increased in PCa it did not correlate with Gleason sum nor it was predictive of FDG-uptake on PET-scan.
