A novel case of follicular mucinosis after autologous stem-cell transplantation for multiple myeloma.

2011
Summary Follicular mucinosis is a rare inflammatory disorder of unknown aetiology, characterized by mucin deposition in hair follicles and sebaceous glands. FM can occur as a benign idiopathic primary disorder or secondary to malignant lymphoproliferative processes, most notably mycosis fungoides. We report a novel case of FM developing after autologous stem-cell transplantation for multiple myeloma, a correlation not previously reported in the literature.
