A facile hydrothermal preparation of O-deficient BiNbO4 nanorods for effective sonocatalytic decontamination

Abstract Niobium oxalate was employed to obtain BiNbO4 for the first time and the BiNbO4 nanorods were successfully synthesized through a hydrothermal method at a low temperature. Oxygen vacancies were introduced into the BiNbO4 nanorods, lowering the BiNbO4 bandgap. The O-deficient BiNbO4 exhibited excellent sonocatalytic performance.
